Old & New Layers

Product Benefits

Why Rebond SBR
Sets the Standard

Trusted across construction sites for its versatility and consistent performance — from thin-layer repairs to heavy-duty floor screeds and polymer-modified mortars.

Single component — gauged as required. No complex mixing ratios or additional components needed.

01

Excellent bond to concrete, adhesion plaster, masonry, stonework, and similar substrates.

02

Provides waterproof screeds and plasters for long-term moisture and weather protection.

03

Compatible with all common hydraulic cements — no reformulation or special processing required.

04

Weather-resistant mortar with improved durability and impermeability to chlorides and harmful agents.

05

Improved tensile and flexural strength — enables thin applications without performance loss.

Step-by-Step Guide

Correct Method of
Using Rebond SBR

1

Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be cleaned and free from dust, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits, and other deleterious substances. Laitance should be removed if any. By mechanical tools, smooth substrates must be roughened to provide adequate key. Loose scales on corroded steel must be removed and exposed.

1
2

Priming

Reinforcing steel must be primed with suitable primer immediately after cleaning. Concrete substrates should be thoroughly dampened with water and any excess water must be removed before being primed by scrubbing a slurry coat of 1 vol. Rebond SBR to 1 vol. water to 2 volumes fresh cement. Settlement shall be avoided by stirring continuously.

Product Application

Patching & Repair Mortar — see mix proportions table below. Apply fresh cement-SBR slurry before placing mortar for optimum bonding.

4

Heavy Floor Screed

Heavy Floor Screed — refer to mix proportions below. Blend contents thoroughly. Settlement shall be avoided by stirring continuously.
